This week I had the scouts bring a collection that they had to present. Both Ty and Brinton brought their card collections. Brinton had several different types of cards he collects, but his favorite is his Pokemon card collection. Ty had mainly football cards. Both Ty and Brinton gave excellent presentations of their cards and arranged their 10 favorite cards. The scouts are encouraged to complete requirement 6a at home with their families.
After the collection presentations, we made bean bags and a bean bag toss. The scouts drew out holes for their bean bag toss on cardboard boxes and then filled and stitched up bean bags. They did a great job. The scouts are encouraged to complete requirements 10a and 10b with their new bean bags.
Next week's activity will be pack meeting held on Tuesday at 7:00 pm at the church. I hope to see everyone and their families there.

Wolf Den Meeting: November 11, 2008
Today the scouts really took to heart November's theme of "Seeds of Kindness." We were able to go around a small neighborhood and collect food items for the Utah Food Bank. They really got into the food drive and wanted to go to "just one more" house. I appreciate their enthusiasm for service and hope that they will continue that attitude throughout their lives.
Next week the scouts have been asked to bring a collection to present and we will also be working on one of our wolf electives.

Wolf Den Meeting: November 4, 2008
Today for scouts we started with our new monthly theme of "Seeds of Kindness." We found leaves and make leaf rubbings for Thank You notes to Arlen Nelson, who came to tell stories at our last pack meeting. The boys did a great job and seemed to have fun with the project. Hopefully this will encourage them to express gratitude to others.

November 2008 Theme: Seeds of Kindness
What a wonderful time of year! The leaves are falling, and winter is just around the corner. With the change in season and the coming holidays, people seem to be a little more thoughtful and concerned about others.
As we approach Thanksgiving, let's spread "Seeds of Kindness" in the form of multiple small service projects. Helping others encourages compassion and gives the scouts the opportunity to see the bounty produced by spreading many small seeds of kindness. The boys can discover that just as the large, strong oak tree came from the small acorn, big things can happen from spreading small seeds of kindness and charity.
