Pack Meeting: March 24, 2009

Our Pack Meeting this month centered around careers. Our special guest John Droge came and told us a little bit about his job. I apologize I don't remember his specific job title, but I do remember he analyzes car crashes and injuries incurred for insurance purposes. The boys seemed to really enjoy his slide presentation since it was filled with pictures of auto crashes. He also brought along his "dork" helmet, which is a device that measures head trauma. The boys enjoyed putting on the helmet and seeing what kind of trauma they could create when shaking their heads. Thank you John for coming and sharing with us.

This month we welcomed in a new Cub Scout, Jake Kemp. Welcome to cub scouting and the Wolf den Jake.

Brinton Gooch received his Wolf Badge, Gold Arrowhead and Geography belt loop. Brinton also moved on to the Bear den. Congratulations Brinton.

Garrison Hauet received his Citizenship belt loop and Marble belt loop
The rest of the Bear den also received their Marble belt loops. Congratulations to everyone and thanks for another great pack meeting.

Wolf Den Meeting: March 17, 2009

Though the theme for this month is focused towards careers, we are going to back up and finish our geology belt loop since we have not had the opportunity to in the past few weeks.

We started by having a little quiz of states and capitals on a GeoSafari. If anyone is familiar with this game it can get quite addictive. The scouts had a great time playing the game.

We completed our geography belt loop by learning about some of the major land forms in Utah, the continents, hemispheres, longitude and latitude lines and how to use them to locate a coordinate.

Next week will be our pack meeting for the month.

Unfortunately den meeting had to be canceled due to myself and my son being sick. We will still be holding den meeting next week.

This month, explore career possibilities of the 21st century. Discover how having a positive attitude is essential in reaching career goals. Being positive helps boys be who they can be. Exploring what the future may bring for boys will encourage them to explore the consequences in their lives of honesty in their everyday activities.
